Kuwait Embassy, DC
Kuwait had a lot of students going to universities in the U.S. in 1983. They kept track of them and provided accounting from a database within the basement of the embassy in Washington, DC. A few years before they had contracted with a company to write the programs and operate the IBM Series/1 computer, at great expense. Now they needed to expand it to operate even more workstations. They were being told that no more workstations could be added to the computer system and asked us to verify that. We were let in the back door at night and ushered to the computer room. The contracting company provided the computer but no operators. We analyzed the computer and verified that, yes, the computer was at maximum configuration and could support no more workstations. End of project.
